Blog EntryHancock: The Right Response to a CallJul 14, '08 1:12 AM
for everyone

Howdy there!!!

Have you seen the movie HANCOCK?!

It's a very interesting story. Though it's not one of my favorites but the story itself put me in a state of pondering...

Not your ordinary super hero, so true... He's the worst super hero i've ever seen... can you imagine superman sleeping in the streets like a stray dog in the middle of the day, and not because he was exhausted trying to catch villains, but because his best friend is a bottle of alcohol... Still he helps in catching the bad guys, but leaving destruction behind... So instead of the people admiring him and thanking him for saving the day, people hated him for crashing into their cars, buildings, houses and even the government runs after him with a pile of cases.

What a hero... but what attracts me to him is that he has the heart to serve although he forgot his ethics and somehow forgot that he should be part of the solution and not the problem.

And the movie stresses out that it takes a good friend to spur that kind of extraordinary person to put him in the right tracks... Hahaha..what a struggle for him, but because he met (probably) the only person who thank him for his good deed, he found the straight inside him to trust this person. Soon enough he was changed. Now his only struggle is his identity. Who he is, he do not know, all he knows is that he has a calling. And when a great secret about his person was soon revealed he was again devastated, hurt and confused. And on top of that he had a decision to make. whether to follow his so-called destiny or his ultimate calling.  One is in the exact opposite of the other. Choosing one means loosing the other. But I'm so glad he chose his calling. He chose the sacrifice he had to live for the rest of his life.

Sometimes, God gives us a calling that may mean giving away what you've always wanted or longed for or even your own lifestyle. Getting out of our comfort zones...for some it is very tough...but a decision has to be made...

You have to choose between the life that you think destiny bestowed on you or the Calling of God that you can not escape so easily...

Your life's pleasure/happiness or your life for the pleasure of God?

Think about it...
